X/Zero work their way through the hunter Bosses/Stages
And The good folks work their ways through the Mavericks

Have the player win the fight then, If someone's meant to die, have them dies in a cutscene
For Example
The player (If they chose to be good) wins against Zero at the end. Zero kneels on one knee. The player walks over and, Boom saber/Buster shot to the face. Lengthy dialog, yadda yadda, then the player explodes and gets a nice Thanks for playing screen :D

There was no such thing as a maverick before Sigma, really. In MHX, Sigma says he caused all of the problems they had been having, even though I dunno if you can even trust that game, since people who shouldn't die apparently die and missiles get launched that were never launched. All the reploids aside from X were instable though, since Cain created them with the suffering circuit. It caused a glitch in their system that would drive them insane, but I think that only makes them more susceptible to the virus, not that it gives it to them.

How could be Sigma leader of the Maverick Hunters if there where no Mavericks?.....I think MHX messed up with the story.....In mmx4 is Zero called Maverick so I think they were always Mavericks but they didn“t have the sigma Virus

Sigma was originally created to be leader of the reploids, alongside Gamma. when Gamma was destroyed by Zero and Sigma went to check him out, that might have been the origination of the maverick hunters. Or it may have originated when Sigma began staging the attacks.
