The One Man RPG 2

[Sepuku.exe]

"How is it that my story is difficult to believe?" I ask as I walk through the gates.

[Death Dark]

     "For one thing, you woke up on a hill without any prior knowledge as to where you were.  For another thing, you were sleeping out there and live to tell about it.  C'mon, I'll show you to the inn for tonight, but you'll have to talk to the chief tomorrow."

I follow the man to the Inn, observing the people and places around the town.

[Death Dark]

     The man walks inside with you and speaks to the man at the counter.

     "He says he is lost."

     "Lost?  Around here?"  The portly man behind the counter was obviously surprised at this.  He was dressed nicer than most of the people, but it was probably merely because he didn't get dirty sitting behind a counter.

     "I thought the same thing.  He needs a room to stay in; I'll bring him to the chief first thing in the morning."

     "Does he have a way to pay for himself?"

     "Dunno.  Hey, kid!  You got any money?"

"I don't think so..." I reply.

[Death Dark]

     The guard man sighed.  "Well, what're we going to do with him?"

     "I've got a spare room down the hall that isn't being rented right now; I'll let him stay there for the night."

     The man at the counter motions you over, handing you a key that has the number 5 engraved on it.

"Thank you" I reply, taking the key. I walk down the hall to my room and open the door.

[Death Dark]

     It appears he's given you the discount room.  It's a very small room with rough, unfinished wooden furniture.  It has a bed, a bedside table, a lamp, a dresser, and a round table with a few chairs.

I walk in, and put my sack on the table. I turn on the lamp, and take off my boots. I sit at the table and lay my sword on it, and gaze at it.

[Death Dark]

     You can see yourself clearly in it...as well as something behind you.  You gaze into it, thinking it to be a trick of the eye.  According to the reflection, behind you stands a tall man in a dark cloak, with glowing red eyes gazing at you.

I quickly stand up while grabbing my sword, knocking my chair over and tripping on it in the process. I hit the floor and look up at the man standing there...

[Death Dark]

     To find that no one is there.

     "Are you okay?"

     You look to the doorway to see a young girl, roughly your own age, standing there.

[Sepuku.exe]

I look at her, then I look back at where the man should have been, dumbstruck. "Did you just see a man in here with red eyes?" I ask her.

[Death Dark]

     "No, I came when I heard the commotion.  I haven't seen anyone with red eyes."

[Sepuku.exe]

"Oh, ok..." As I get up. I try to ask her name as I take a step towards her. I trip again, this time on my sword, which has lodged itself into the chair.
