I think the real problem with Microsoft is, not that they fail to fix your console when it breaks, but the fact that it has a 33% failure rate at all. Any competent manufacture should be able to get things right, at least by the SECOND MODEL OF THE CONSOLE THEY RELEASE A GOOD 5 YEARS AFTER THEY RELEASE IT ORIGINALLY.

It doesn't matter how good it is, it isn't as widely known as Halo. Halo's public image is the reason the 360 does better than the PS3 sales-wise.

Most non-gamers know of Halo. Seeing as they hear about the massive number of fans killing each other when the new one is released, they assume it's a good game. Thus, seeing as it's exclusive to the 360, they assume it's a good console. So, most non-gamers will tell you it's a good console, and thus, good public image.

Plus, remember the rule of industry is "any publicity is good publicity."
