I guess people have begun to wonder about that "Battle Network: Forte's Reign" (working title) thing. Problem with it is:

I can't sprite Battle Network style. No matter how hard I try, overworld or in battle.

So I'm having a contest.

It'll be easier for you if I set the scene, so here goes.

15 years after the events of the final story in Battle Network 6, Internet society has been at peace for the first time since its creation...

<insert long and drawn out plot with various inclusions of Netto and Raito Hikari>

However, a new Internet Terrorist organization has started striking fear into the people of the world - their name?

Mezzo Forte

Their leader is unknown, their operators seem to not even exist. There are eight members, excluding their leader:

CrashMan.EXE
CrystalMan.EXE
GeminiMan.EXE
Mercury.EXE
HardMan.EXE
Enker.EXE
StarMan.EXE
Ballade.EXE

Your mission: Sprite these guys (StarMan excluded, of course)

Rules:
Anyone who enters can enter as many designs for a given navi as they wish, as well as enter as many navis as they wish.

All you need to submit to the contest is one overworld sprite and one battle sprite. The winners in each Navi can then elect to make a sheet (The sheet only needs to be basic, I'll go into detail with the winners). If you choose not to create a sheet, the nearest runner up willing to make a sheet from their navi (overworld and battle) will be the winner.

I'll be judging as soon as I get enough entries to have selection. The winners' sprites will be used in my comic, and credit will be given of course. (Credit will be listed on the Credits page)

As an added bonus, you'll receive a custom rank, 200 posts (for the lulz) And an "@fortescomics.net" email if you would like. (It's been a rather unpopular prize in the past, so I guess it's probably not going to hit off so well.)

If you turn down the email, you can PM me any picture you would like made into a wallpaper and I will do my best to turn it into a wallpaper of your size and liking.

I hope all of that is explained well enough. Good luck, and remember, the faster this is done, the faster we get a new comic.

Mezzo Forte ? That´s the name of a character I´ve made some time ago...You have choosen some hard navi desings to make...ah well
BTW: I though that Serenade EXE is the BN version of Ballade.

While their names are music related, I see no reason to think they're the same person. Serenade will make a return in this comic, so working overworld sprites will be needed... but I'll take care of that later.

Side note: Just because you're not a Battle Network spriter, or spriter at all, doesn't mean someone else isn't. Tell your friends about this contest >_>

CrashMan.EXE is extremely important to this comic. In Spanish one day, I doodled some concept art for just about all of the Navis. (Fun fact: I can actually DRAW better than I can sprite in Battle Network style.) I had what I considered almost official designs for just about everyone, but I especially liked what I did with CrashMan. As a special request for the entrants of this contest - when attempting to make CrashMan.EXE, keep his head looking similar to this:



It's cool to edit it, I don't care, but just use the head. It's really the best part.
